Raymond “Cork” G. Welch

Raymond “Cork” G Welch, 80, of Marietta passed away at his home on October 3, 2017.  He was born November 20, 1936 in Clark County, Ohio to the late Joseph D and Helen (Dunn) Welch.  He graduated from Mechanicsburg High School, and had attended Mt. Union College.  Cork had retired from Navistar Trucking.  He was a member of the Masonic Harmony Lodge #8 of Urbana and the Antioch Shrine Temple, Dayton.

In June of 2004 he married Barbara Mitchell who survives with his sons Tom Welch (Bonnie) of Columbus, Bill Welch of Mechanicsburg, and Jeff Welch (Joann) of Waterford.  Also surviving are stepdaughters Kim Conlon LaBar (Dan) of Cincinnati and Kristy Conlon Vincent (Russ) of Fleming, 5 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren.  A brother Bill Welch, sister Candy Blakley and first wife Margaret Travis Welch and many nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of Cork’s life will be held 1pm on Sunday, October 8th at Christ United Methodist Church with Reverend Don Archer. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
